Walter Dorvil, a lawyer and customs inspection expert trained in Belgium and Morocco, is running for deputy in Miragoâne, in the Nippes department, under the banner of the Groupement Viktwa (No. 60), Le National reported on November 4.
Dorvil founded the youth network Konbit Jèn Lidè Ayisyen (KOJLA) and heads Radio d'Or. He presents himself as the heir of his mentor, Dr. Robenson Dorvil. “Miragoâne's youth aspire to a new kind of political representation,” he said.
He plans to defend three bills on jobs, education and local development. The first would create a “priority training zone” in Miragoâne, requiring companies in the port and customs sectors to offer internships and certified training to young people from the area.
The first round of Haiti's presidential and legislative elections, originally set for December 13, 2026, has been postponed to July 18, 2027, Rezo Nòdwès noted.
