Haiti has opened candidate filings for its national elections. The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) set the first round of presidential and legislative voting for December 13, with a possible second round on February 21, 2027.

The Organization of American States urged Haitian authorities to bar candidates with ties to criminal groups. Insecurity has already changed where some candidates are able to submit their documents.

Earlier this month the CEP reshuffled its leadership as preparations for the vote drew criticism.
