The Haiti Tech Connect Podcast is organizing “Konekte pou Bati” (Connect to Build), a virtual careers fair on Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to connect young Haitians with new career paths and with experts in the diaspora, iciHaiti reported.

The fair asks what kinds of jobs technology can create or change to help Haiti's municipalities develop. It will focus on four areas: digital technology and the digital economy; agriculture and agritech; local diplomacy and civic tech; and technology, security and resilience.

Through mentoring and shared experience, organizers want to turn “brain drain” into “brain gain” by putting skills to work for local communities.

Young people, professionals, local officials, civil society groups, businesses, schools and training centers, and diaspora experts are invited. Registration is open on the event's website, konektepoubati.com.
