About Le Soulouquois
An independent Haitian news media company broadcasting the latest and breaking news from Haiti, the United States and the world, and telling Haiti's story with the dignity it deserves.
Our mission
Haiti's untold story, told by us
For too long, the world has met Haiti only through crisis. The crises are real, and we cover them without flinching. But Haiti is also the nation that defeated slavery, built the Citadelle, gave the world konpa and raised generations of artists, doctors, athletes and entrepreneurs.
Le Soulouquois was founded in the spirit of Petit-Goâve, whose people are called Soulouquois after Faustin Soulouque, the son of the city who became president in 1847 and emperor from 1849 to 1859. Our newsroom reports on Haiti and its diaspora, on U.S. and world affairs that shape Haitian lives, and on the culture, music and history that make us proud.

Editorial standards
News summaries credit the outlet that first reported each story, with a link. Sponsored content is always labeled, and advertisers never influence coverage.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so at the bottom of the story. Spot an error? Tell the newsroom.
Privacy
We collect only what you give us, such as your email for newsletters, and we never sell it. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data at any time. Read the full privacy policy.
