Steel parts for the new public market in Jérémie, the capital of the Grand'Anse, arrived at the construction site on the evening of Saturday, October 31, HaitiLibre reported. The market is being built under the URBAYITI program.
The project covers 9,752 square meters, but it is being adjusted. At a press conference on October 15, the town hall and the companies involved said a planned cold room would not be built and that other parts of the project would also change.
According to HaitiLibre, the changes concern the final layout of the market. The report did not detail them or give a date for the market's completion.
