The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) is warning the public about a fake Facebook account that uses its name, Vant Bèf Info reported on November 4. In a note dated November 3, the council said the content posted on the account “is not official.”

According to the CEP, the account uses the institution's official name and links its posts to the council's website, cephaiti.ht, which could mislead users, create confusion and damage the credibility of the electoral body. The council says it has asked Meta to suspend the account and declines all responsibility for what is published there in the meantime.

The CEP asked citizens and journalists to check their sources and to rely only on its official channels for information about the electoral process, as the country prepares for a first round now planned for July 2027.
