Joseph Félix Badio, a former official of Haiti's Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) charged in the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, intends to plead not guilty to all charges in U.S. federal court, Juno7 reported on Wednesday, November 4, citing LSV Media.

The hearing was held on Wednesday in Miami before Magistrate Judge Enjoliqué Aytch Lett. The trial is expected before Judge Jacqueline Becerra, but no date has been set. “We don't have a date yet,” said his lawyer, William Barzee, adding that it could take place next year. Badio is presumed innocent.

Badio was among 18 suspects in the case extradited from Haiti to the United States in September, along with 17 Colombian former soldiers, The Haitian Times reported. Moïse was killed on July 7, 2021, at his private residence in Pèlerin 5, in Pétion-Ville.
