A group of students from the École normale supérieure (ENS), the State University's teacher-training school, held a sit-in on Wednesday, November 4, outside the Education Ministry's offices at Delmas 83 to demand their appointment letters, Le Nouvelliste reported.

The protesters say they completed the three-month internship the ministry requires before new teachers are appointed. They are also demanding payment of their internship allowance, which they put at 46,000 gourdes.

Le Nouvelliste did not report any response from the ministry. The ENS trains teachers for the country's secondary schools.
