Planning and External Cooperation Minister Sandra Paulemon met the ambassadors of Switzerland and Brazil on Tuesday, November 3, to discuss how international aid is coordinated in Haiti, Vant Bèf Info reported. The two countries currently co-chair the Partners' Technical Coordination (CTP), the forum where Haitian institutions and donors discuss their work.
The ambassadors suggested reviewing the cooperation portfolio sector by sector, with the ministries and technical and financial partners concerned, under the ministry's coordination. The meeting also considered creating an international development cooperation fund to complement existing financing, and Paulemon presented work on a national external cooperation policy.
The minister proposed a roadmap to strengthen ties with the CTP: identifying priority sectors, setting up project monitoring and sharing more information on donor-funded projects. She asked partners to back the national stabilization and economic, social and territorial recovery program (PNSREST), which she called a government priority. No figures were given.
