Jordan Saint-Louis, a 27-year-old Haitian American striker born in the United States to Haitian parents, hopes to one day wear the jersey of the Grenadiers, Haiti's national team, Le National reported on November 4.
Saint-Louis now plays for FK Dunav Ruse, his first experience in Bulgarian football. According to his agent, he missed the opening matchdays because his Bulgarian work permit had not yet been issued, but he scored two goals in his first three games after joining the team.
His story is a familiar one for the Haitian diaspora: many players raised abroad keep close ties to Haiti and dream of representing the country, which reached the 2026 World Cup and is preparing for a Nations League match against the United States in Miami.
