A new platform for young Haitians, Rezo'm, was launched on Saturday, October 31, at Université Quisqueya in Port-au-Prince with the aim of turning networking into a path to jobs and opportunities, Vant Bèf Info reported.

Rezo'm focuses on training, networking and pooling skills so that young people with ideas but few means can find collaborators and turn those ideas into projects. Its leaders say it wants to fight unemployment by encouraging entrepreneurship and collective initiatives, and to break the isolation many young people face.

Vice-president Julner Lebrun presented the platform's main directions, and founding member and administrator Widza Bella Jean Baptiste explained the motivation behind it. The group plans to expand gradually to all ten departments and eventually build an international network.

Lebrun cited poor internet access and inadequate telecommunications services as a major obstacle, and said steps are being considered to address it.
