Foreign Minister Raina Forbin asked the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) for cooperation built more on investment than on emergency aid, during a video call on Wednesday, October 28, with the association's secretary general, Noemí Espinoza Madrid, iciHaïti reported.
The two reviewed progress on the Regional Action Plan for Haiti. Forbin said the government wants a “paradigm shift” in international cooperation, favoring sustainable development, productive investment and stronger national capacity over an approach based only on emergency relief.
The minister also called for international interventions to be better coordinated with Haiti's national priorities, and presented regional cooperation as a lever for economic recovery.
