Haiti's Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday, October 28, with the Collective of Citizens of the Haitian Informal Sector and Small Businesses (CCSHPE), Le Nouvelliste reported.

According to the ministry, the agreement aims to give beneficiaries technical support to regularize their activities, build their skills and move into the formal economy.

The report did not say how many businesses the agreement covers. The ministry recently reported registering 19,720 merchants, including 13,222 in the West department.
