Ava Lee, who competes for Haiti through sporting naturalization, won a gold medal on Saturday, October 24, at the Pan Club Taekwondo championship in Florida, the Haitian Taekwondo Federation (FEHTKD) said, HaitiLibre reported.

The federation said the win was all the more remarkable because Lee beat Kristina Teachout of the United States, an Olympic bronze medalist who has also won gold at the Pan American Open.

The federation also congratulated Flerickson Jean Pierre, who won a silver medal at the Governor's Cup in Washington state.
