Haiti and Chile want to strengthen their cooperation as they approach 90 years of diplomatic relations, Juno7 reported on October 28, after Foreign Minister Raina Forbin received Chilean Ambassador Manuel Rioseco, whose mission in Haiti is ending.

According to the ministry, the talks covered security cooperation, consular matters, the situation of the Haitian community living in Chile and ways to deepen cultural and economic ties.

Forbin praised the ambassador's work to bring the two countries closer and reaffirmed the government's commitment to friendship with Chile. Diplomatic relations date from 1937, according to Chile's foreign ministry, so they will turn 90 in 2027.
