Haiti's National Old-Age Insurance Office (ONA), headed by Lovely François, is reforming the way it registers contributors, HaitiLibre reported on Monday, October 26. A new social identification code, the CIDS, a single permanent 17-digit number, will replace the old 10-digit code.

The ONA says the new code will make member identification more reliable and make it easier to reach contribution accounts online, starting in the second half of the 2026-2027 fiscal year, which begins in April 2027.

The office's social security directorate is in charge of the rollout, with support from its other technical departments, as part of a drive to modernize the ONA and move its services online.
