Culture and Communication Minister Emmanuel Ménard made an unannounced visit early on Tuesday, November 3, to the National Archives of Haiti in Delmas 75, Le Nouvelliste reported, citing a ministry statement.
The visit came less than two weeks after the minister met Archives employees who had raised concerns about their working conditions.
Ménard announced the creation of a unit to monitor and follow up on the institutions under the ministry's supervision, as well as the revival of the ministry's Strategic Orientation Council.
The National Archives said their services continue to operate normally for users in Haiti and in the diaspora.
