Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) took its voter registration awareness campaign to markets in the South department, visiting Camp-Perrin, Cavaillon and Les Cayes, iciHaiti reported on November 1.

With explanatory brochures and a sound truck, a team from the council's communication department explained to vendors, shoppers and residents the main steps to register, the documents required and why each citizen should check that their registration is valid.

The team also explained the provisions of the June 2, 2026 electoral decree on voter registration. The CEP says the campaign is under way across the country to encourage informed participation.

Under the revised calendar published on October 28, the first round of the general elections is set for July 18, 2027.
