Radio Lumière, founded in 1958, has left its mark on the history of Haitian broadcasting well beyond its evangelical mission, its former general director Sony Lamarre Joseph said on the program Panel Magik on Wednesday, October 28, Le Nouvelliste reported.

Joseph traced the station's history and philosophy, built on news, education, closeness to local communities and the promotion of culture.

The interview is part of Le Nouvelliste's coverage of the centenary of radio broadcasting in Haiti, which has also looked back at pioneers such as the engineer Fritz Joassin.
