A coalition of political parties and civil society groups calling itself the Assembly of National Consensus (ACN) is demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, in a statement dated October 29 in Port-au-Prince and published by Le National.

The ACN says it brings together 13 political groupings representing 128 parties, plus 55 independent parties, for a total of 183 parties, as well as 82 civil society and private sector organizations, including representatives of the country's three main religious confessions.

Under the heading “the time for postponements is over,” the group says it has taken note of a postponement and concludes that the prime minister's departure is the only logical outcome. The statement came a day after the Provisional Electoral Council moved the first round of elections, once planned for December 13, to July 18, 2027.

Le National published the statement in its opinion section. The part available online did not say how the ACN intends to press its demand, and it included no response from the government.
