After a two-year break, the Rendez-vous Rad Lakay fashion event returned for a seventh edition scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at the Hotel Montana, Le Nouvelliste reported.

The event is run by the Organization for the Promotion of Haitian Clothing (OPPRA). It showcases the skills of Haitian designers and artisans and seeks to open a debate on a public policy for clothing, OPPRA president Jackson Badeau Castor told the newspaper.

In the interview, Castor made the case that supporting Haitian fashion means supporting jobs, skills, a local economy and an identity, not just clothes.
