Gary Bodeau, a former deputy for Delmas and former president of the Chamber of Deputies, will file his candidacy papers on Thursday, October 29, at the West departmental electoral office (BED) on Route de Frères, Juno7 reported, citing information it obtained exclusively.
Bodeau was among the prominent political figures of the final years in which Parliament was functioning, the outlet noted. Juno7 did not say which office he is seeking or under which party he will run.
Filing papers does not mean a candidacy is accepted: the documents must be reviewed before the electoral authorities rule on whether they are admissible. Juno7 has also covered recent filings by Jocelerme Privert, Michel Martelly and Olivier Barrau.
