A group representing employees of Haiti's Senate is rejecting the appointment of a commission that includes two people from outside the institution, Le Nouvelliste reported on Thursday, October 29.

In a statement dated October 26, the Groupe des défenseurs des employés du Sénat (GRDES) said the commission was set up by order No. 52 of October 12, and it named former senator Anacasis Jean Hector as the person behind the initiative.

The group says every matter concerning the Senate's administration and management must respect the legal framework and the chamber's rules and be handled transparently. It called on the government and the relevant authorities to act urgently.
