England captain Harry Kane won the 2026 Ballon d'Or on Monday, October 26, at a ceremony in London, the city where he was born 33 years ago, AFP reported. The 70th edition of the award was held in the British capital as an exception.
The Bayern Munich striker, who helped his club win the German league and cup double, is the first Englishman to win since Michael Owen in 2001, Juno7 reported. Kylian Mbappé finished second and Lamine Yamal third, and Kane also took the Gerd Müller Trophy for top scorers.
In the women's award, Spain's Alexia Putellas won for a third time and Haiti's Melchie Dumornay finished fourth. Paris Saint-Germain was named men's club of the year.
