The Haitian Copyright Office (BHDA) trained magistrates and court staff from the Cap-Haïtien jurisdiction on copyright law over two days, October 20 and 21, Le Nouvelliste reported.

The session, held at the Hôtel Retrouvailles in Cap-Haïtien, covered counterfeiting, the creative or “orange” economy and digital issues, and included a mock trial.

The BHDA is part of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The opening ceremony brought together journalists, cultural figures and others interested in protecting creative works, the newspaper said.
