Haitian airline Sunrise Airways has officially launched a new route linking Canada and Haiti, HaitiLibre reported on Sunday, October 25. Françoise Suzan, the chargée d'affaires at Haiti's embassy in Canada, took part in the launch.
Despite the ceremony, flights are not yet open for public booking. The airline is finishing ground logistics before it confirms fares and how often it will fly.
On October 23 in Montreal, the Haitian Chamber of Commerce of Canada (CCHC) held the first edition of “Apothéose,” a new series of business meetings, iciHaïti reported. Its guests of honor were Sunrise founder and president Philippe Bayard, sales director Jonathan Bayard and deputy general manager Jean-Sébastien Bayard.
The chamber presented the airline as proof that businesses born in the Haitian community can thrive and become leaders in their field, and said the meetings are meant to build lasting partnerships among entrepreneurs and professionals.
