Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) said 878,217 voters had registered as of October 23, in a report on its work two years after it was installed, Le Nouvelliste reported on Monday, October 26.

The council counts 4,577 registered candidates, 27.7% of them women. A note dated October 25 lists 1,306 registration and voting centers in operation.

The CEP said several steps remain, including finalizing the voter list, training staff and buying equipment. After consulting political actors and civil society from October 19 to 23, it plans to adjust the electoral calendar but has not announced a new election date.

Also on Monday, the council launched a mobile registration drive. Teams from its voter registry are working in public spaces and, with permission from public institutions and private companies, directly at workplaces. Citizens must bring their national identification card and can freely choose their voting center when they register.
