Education Minister Vijonet Déméro has ordered 101 public schools across the ten departmental education offices to be gradually turned into “application” schools with teaching support centers (EFA/CAP), according to a circular reported by HaitiLibre and Le Nouvelliste.
The goal is to strengthen ongoing training for teachers, improve classroom practice and raise the quality of learning. Each EFA/CAP will train and follow a network of about 50 nearby primary schools and, budget permitting, will have two teaching advisers.
A support center will be attached to each of the 101 schools. Its construction, rehabilitation and equipment will be carried out gradually, according to the ministry's standards and available resources. The schools are listed by department in annexes to the circular.
