Youth and Sports Minister Pythagore Dumas led a technical team to Gonaïves on Thursday, October 22, for a final assessment of the Parc Sténio Vincent before rehabilitation work begins in November, iciHaïti reported.
According to the outlet's sources, 105 million gourdes are planned for the project in the 2026-2027 budget. The minister said a call for tenders would be launched next week, before work begins.
Mayor Gina Jeanty received the delegation, which then met local officials and members of the sports community of the City of Independence. Dumas promised the work would be completed according to the technical study and asked residents to act as “supervisors” of the project.
