From Montreal to Paris, here is practical news for Haitians living outside the country this week.
Montreal: the Consulate General of Haiti reminds Haitian nationals living in Quebec that they can still come to the consulate to apply for their National Identification Card (CIN). Bring a copy of your birth certificate or an extract from the civil registry. Married women whose husband's name appears on their main documents should also bring a copy of the marriage certificate or an extract.
Paris: the Embassy of Haiti in France invites the community to support the women's national team in two friendlies. Haiti plays Japan on Friday, October 9, at 8 p.m. at the Stade Bauer in Saint-Ouen, and Australia on Tuesday, October 13, at 9 p.m. at the Stade Walter-Luzi in Chambly.
United States and the Caribbean: Haiti's men's team will meet the United States in the Nations League quarterfinals on November 14 and 17. The return leg is at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. The home leg is expected to be played at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, though the venue is not yet confirmed.
Community: Sunrise Airways, the Haitian airline, took part in and sponsored the Haitian Ladies Network weekend, a gathering that helps Haitian women connect and support one another.
