Haitian American designer Daveed Baptiste turned a SoHo storefront into his own New York City block for a three-day showcase of his Spring/Summer 2027 collection with Converse, held September 18 to 20 at 66 Greene Street.

Instead of a traditional runway, the presentation used living-statue performers and a street-block setting inspired by the city's street performers and everyday life.

The loungewear-inspired line includes his signature “Gap Tooth Tee,” warped graphic tees, a laser-engraved denim barbershop shirt, a Caribbean-inspired “Warp” tank top with wave motifs and matching boxer-and-shorts sets in light denim plaid.

“I was just thinking about things that you could kind of dress up but also lounge in, that's the vibe I'm in this season,” Baptiste told The Haitian Times.

Born in Port-au-Prince and raised in Miami's Little Haiti, Baptiste now lives in Brooklyn. He took part in Converse's youth All Stars program, presented with KidSuper at New York Fashion Week and won the 2025 CFDA Empowered Vision Award.
